Winter Activities with Pets

Don't let colder weather get you down! Just because Jack Frost is nipping at your nose doesn't mean there isn't plenty for you and your pet to enjoy! If you're heading outside, don't worry about your pets too much, their fur allows them to enjoy the colder weather for short periods of time - although this may vary per pet. Please be sure that your pet has proper ID tags to avoid getting lost.

It may seem like there isn't much to do with your pets outside, so we put together a list to motivate you:

Fetch
Whether it's just you and your pup - or you and your whole family and your pup playing outside - fetch is a great game to play even if it's snowing. Your pet will also love watching you and your family play with a snowball fight as long as he/she can run, jump and play with your guys too!

Treadmill
If it's too cold to head outside, consider using your treadmill to keep your dog active. Of course, this isn't something you can introduce your dog to and hope for the best, but if taught correctly, this can be a great form of exercise for your pet. Click here for tips

Obstacle Course
Challenge your pet by making them use their senses! Hide their favorite treat or dinner and make them work through a course to find it. They'll love the reward! Another option is to have them work for a prize by placing a treat inside a brain stimulator toy like a KONG.

Dog Class
Break up the day by signing your pet up for a dog class! It's a great way to get some extra training in for your pet and an opportunity for your dog to play with others!
